NEIL ARMSTRONG
It was
July 21, 1969. It was the day when the first man walked on the moon. The man’s
name was Neil Armstrong. He was born in 1930.
When he
was a young boy, he was very interested in planes. He learned to fly when he
was fourteen. He got his pilot’s license when he was sixteen – before he
learned to drive a car!
He studied engineering at university. After he
finished university in 1955, he became a test pilot. In 1962 he became an
astronaut. Seven years later he walked on the moon. The words he said on the
moon are famous “One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”
