More inventions









STEVEN PAUL JOBS

Steven Paul Jobs was born in 1955 in San Francisco California. He was an American computer designer and businessman. Together with Stephen Wozniak, he launched the first personal computer by introducing the Apple computer in 1976. It became a tool to work or study. People can send or receive information from all over the world through it.
He has developed other computer-related hardware and software since then. One of his most recent creations was the iPhone in 2007. The Father of Apple as he was known died in 2011.

TIM BERNESS-LEE

Tim Bernes-Lee was born in 1955 in London. He is a British computer scientist who created one of the most revolutionary inventions of the 20th century- the World Wide Web in 1989. His invention is a system to transfer information among different computers for a more effective communication through internet.

JOHN LOGIE BAIRD
John Logie Baird was born in London in 1888. He was an engineer. He studied at the University of Glasgow and also at Royal Technical College.  He served as superintendent engineer of the Cycle Valley Electrical Power Company during the First World War. John was the first man to televise pictures of objects in motion. In other words, he invented the television in 1926. He died in 1946 after suffering a stroke.

HELEN MURRAY FREE

Helen Murray Free was born in 1923 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a daughter the daughter of James S. Murray, a coal company salesman. She received a B A. degree in chemistry from The College of Wooster. After graduating from Wooster, Helen immediately began working as a quality control chemist for Miles Laboratories. Helen married Alfred Free in 1947 and had six children. She invented the glucose test in 1956. Her invention helped people with diabetes to control their health in a better way. She retired in 1982, but continues to work as a consultant for Bayer Company. After her retirement, she became an active promoter of science education. Helen Free received the National Medal of Technology and innovation from President Obama in 2009.

GEORGE EASTMAN
George Eastman was born in 1854 in the United States. He was a businessman, inventor and philanthropist. He invented the camera. His first camera, the Kodak, was sold in 1888 and consisted of a box camera with 100 exposures. This invention helped people to make photography accessible to the public. By 1927, Eastman Kodak was the largest US Company in the industry. George Eastman believed products should have their own identity, The company slogan was "You press the button, que do the rest"
. Eastman committed suicide in 1932.
